Last weekend, 30th and 31st October, Fomento del Turismo de la Isla de Ibiza and its Wellness Tourism Club "Ibiza Health and Beauty" celebrated the 2nd edition of the Ibiza Wellness Weekend with great success. Great results in the promotion of our wellness talents, in the attendance of the event and in the online streaming connections, also in the media coverage and, especially, in raising funds for the Elena Torres Association for cancer research, information that we detail below.
The event was made possible thanks to the public-private collaboration and the support and funding of the Consell Insular d'Eivissa, which is committed to Wellness Tourism and training in healthy habits, also with the participation of Ibiza Sabors and Eating in Ibiza in the selection of local products. The collaborating framework was the incomparable setting of the new Hotel Six Senses Ibiza, with its multiple spaces dedicated to wellness, culture and local and healthy gastronomy, which we were also able to taste. The event was inaugurated by the president of Fomento del Turismo de la Isla de Ibiza, Alejandro Sancho, and representatives of the collaborating organisations.

Wellness Tourism
Wellness Tourism has been growing for the last 10 years at twice the rate of Tourism in general at an international level (approx. 20% per year). Tourism in which Ibiza is a leading destination of reference, renowned for its magnificent retreats, dream spas, great wellness professionals, off-road sporting events, its agrotourism and rural hotels for rest and relaxation, its lush nature and its Mediterranean gastronomy with high quality local products, an island with a healthy lifestyle that has much to offer, both its residents and visitors from all over the world. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the post-COVID situation has emphasised the importance of taking care of our physical and mental health, and of learning and integrating healthy habits into our daily routines, for which this type of initiative is of vital importance.
The event brought together a sample of all the activities we can do in Ibiza to learn and practice these healthy habits in a holistic way: exercise, meditation, personal development and healthy and local gastronomy, by the hand of great professionals living in Ibiza, as well as foreign "Wellness Ambassadors" as special guests, on this occasion the model and Yoga Master Mirella Canalda and the Ecochef Carolina Ferrer. The local talents were: Taya & Till (Soulpilot.org) - Beyond Breatwork, Canay Atalay (Theheroines.co) - Leadership Evolution, the organic kitchen of Raíces de Ibiza, Lindsay Jay (YogaFit Retreats) - Dance Fitness, Elena Teixidor - Sound Meditation, Thais Puig - Nonviolent Communication and David Reartes - renowned and innovative Chef with local produce. The aim is to support and promote the importance of local and national talent and to inspire us with new trends in the sector.
We also have the support of personalities from the island such as the model and actress Ana Vide, the model Javier de Miguel, the choreographer Gala Robles and the Coach Paco de la Fuente.
On the part of "Sabors d'Eivissa" and Eating in Ibiza we have the participation of high quality local products such as: Ibiza Dried Fruits with Ibiza almonds, Figs and Carob Syrup, Oil and Organic Wines of Ibiza, Ses Cabretes cheese, fresh seasonal produce from the Association of organic farms Ecofeixes such as Cabbage Payesa, pumpkin and Xeixa wheat, infusions and aromatic herbs from Sánima Herbes d'Eivissa, Ibiza Honey, Can Malacosta Jams, Torres Salt, Ibizaloe Jams, Los Fermentistas, Reart Kombucha, among others.
Opening in July 2021, Six Senses Ibiza is the first BREEAM certified sustainable resort and residential community in the Balearics, and occupies a privileged position in Cala Xarraca, on the northern tip of the island, with unobstructed sunset views and surrounded by fragrant groves of trees. At the event, guests were able to sample the resort's cuisine, which features natural, organic and local produce, much of which is sourced from the resort's farm and gardens. Its live experience programme celebrates pioneering wellness, envisioned through a biannual programme of retreats and immersions by internationally recognised professionals and experts, as well as music, art, fashion, culinary exploration and culture.
This event, promoted by Fomento del Turismo de la Isla de Ibiza, aims to promote and develop Health, Beauty and Wellness Tourism on the island of Ibiza and to generate quality, non-seasonal tourism, which is on the rise internationally, and to raise awareness of health care and wellbeing.
